Tuesday, April 7 – June 9, 2020 12-1 pm $70.00 (includes book) Class will meet once a week for 10 weeks during the lunch hour, so that folks who work during the day can attend. Instructor: Marianne Hurley. In this class you will learn 10 basic lace techniques by knitting a sampler shawl. Each week you will learn a new technique and you will have a week to knit up that section of the shawl before the next week. Each pattern builds on the previous one. Materials Needed: You will need approximately 1400 yards of a light- colored DK weight yarn; and a 24” circular needle in size #8, or size needed to get gauge of 22 stitches and 29 rows per 4” x 4” square in stockinette, and stitch markers. If you wish to learn how to incorporate beads into your knitting you will need approximately approximately 628 size 6 seed beads. The sample shawl in the shop was made using 6 skeins of Prairie Spun DK yarn. Several colors of this yarn are available in the shop. If we don’t have the color you want we can order it for you if you place your order before January 2. Prerequisites: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, know how to increase and decrease stitches, and bind off. Minimum number of students: 4 Maximum number of students: 8. You must register ahead of time so that we can determine if the class will happen.
